I’ve had a few days to mull over The Umbrella Academy, and in retrospect I don’t think I like it very much. It’s a lot of fun, that much is sure, and it has a lot to recommend it, but as an overall series, I thought it verged on bad.
Tomb Raider should have been a great film. I wanted to watch it because I like films with bows and arrows in them, and Tomb Raider has an arrow in the logo. I fell asleep.
I’ve been thinking about the new Bumblebee movie. Bumblebee is not an especially thought-provoking film. It’s a film about a giant robot who fights other giant robots, and about how he loses his memory and makes friends with a girl who helps him get it back again. Somehow, though, Bumblebee works.
